The Climate Affected Middle Age Farming
Right around 700 A.D. the weather in Europe bagan to improve. Europe was at first rainy and cold, but it started to become a more farming suitable environment. If a natural disaster was to ever occur the already low crop income would become even lower and this would possibly cause starvation, but more significantly a dietary shift which would, in turn, leave many more Europeans susceptible to disease.
The idea that many Middle Age people were the victims of a poor immune system was partially varified by the discovery and examination of the remains certain Hungarian grave sites. Upon examination of the bodies it was found that one of five was a child below the age of one, two of five were between the ages of one and 14 and more than one was a woman below the age of 20. This proved that
something was wrong with people that caused such a low average life expectancy, and it is reasonable to assume that poor dieatary plans as a result of deficiant soil and terrible weather was the reason for death.
